How Do I Delete a Lot from an Active Auction?

You can delete a lot from an active auction on the Items page of the BidWrangler Admin Portal by clicking the X on the row for the lot. You can even delete the lot while the auction is accepting bids, or if the lot has bids placed on it. Item deletion should be handled with extreme caution, however, as this action cannot be undone.

Auction staff most often need to delete a lot from an auction to correct a catalog error, for example a duplicate lot. If the items in question need to be pulled by the seller or were sold outside of the platform, you may prefer to simply hide the item instead of delete it. • Make sure that you have the correct Lot ID or item name.

• Treat the deletion as permanent. Item deletion cannot be reversed.

• If you must delete more than one lot, use bulk deletion. See How to Delete Multiple Items at Once in BidWrangler.

• If the lots has bids placed on it, it is highly recommend to reach out to those bidders directly to explain the situation.

WARNING: Make sure that you select the correct lot before you click the X. Treat the deletion as permanent. If you accidentally delete a lot that was not intended to be removed, please reach out to support at helpdesk@bidwrangler.com immediately.

1. Log in to the BidWrangler Admin Portal.

2. Open the Items page from the left-hand menu. You can also open the Items tab of the auction from the Auctions page.

3. Select the auction in the Filter By Auction dropdown.

   

4. Find the lot by its Lot ID or name.

5. Click the X on the row for that lot, and confirm. The item will no longer appear anywhere in your platform.

   

Can I delete a lot from an auction that's already live?

Yes. Click the X on the row for the lot on the Items page. You do not need to pause or close the auction first.

Can I delete a lot that already has bids on it?

Yes. The steps are the same for a lot with bids and a lot without bids. Click the X on the row for the lot on the Items page.

What should I do with a lot that sold outside of BidWrangler during the auction?

You can either delete the lot from the auction with the X on the Items page, or unpublish it using Auction Staging. Use the same steps when a seller asks you to withdraw a lot from a live auction.

Can I undo a lot deletion?

Treat every deletion as permanent, and make sure that you select the correct lot before you click the X. If you delete a lot by mistake, contact helpdesk@bidwrangler.com immediately. Our team will examine what we can do.

Can I delete several lots at once from a live auction?

Yes. On the Items page, select the checkbox for each lot, then choose Delete items from the Selected Items dropdown. To select a range of lots, select the first checkbox, hold Shift, and select the last checkbox. Refer to How to Delete Multiple Items at Once in BidWrangler.
