How to Delete Multiple Items at Once in BidWrangler
To delete items in bulk in BidWrangler, go to the Items page in the admin portal, filter to the auction, check the box on each item you want to remove, then open the Selected Items dropdown in the top right corner, choose Delete items, and confirm. This removes all of the selected lots in one action instead of deleting them one at a time with the X on each item.
When Bulk Deleting Items Is the Right Tool
Bulk deletion is the fast way to clean up mistakes that created many unwanted lots at once, for example a set of lots accidentally duplicated into the wrong auction, a bad import that needs to be cleared before re-importing, or test lots left over from setup. If you only need to remove one or two items, deleting them individually from the Items list works fine; bulk deletion earns its keep when the list is long.
Before You Delete Lots in Bulk
Filter the Items page to the specific auction first, so you are only ever selecting from the lots you intend to remove.
Double-check your selection before confirming. Treat bulk deletion as permanent, and if you delete something by mistake, contact helpdesk@bidwrangler.com right away.
If you are clearing lots because an import went wrong, fix the import file before re-importing so the same problem does not recur.
Steps to Delete Items in Bulk
Go to the Items page on the left-hand menu of the admin portal.
Filter the list by the specific Auction where the unwanted lots are.
Check the box in the first column of each row for the items you want to delete. To select a long run of items quickly, click the first item's checkbox, then hold Shift and click the last one to select all rows in between.
Go to the top right corner, click the Selected Items dropdown, choose Delete items, and confirm.
All of the selected lots are removed in one go.
FAQ
How do I select a large number of items without clicking every checkbox?
Click the checkbox on the first item in the range, then hold Shift and click the checkbox on the last item. Every row in between is selected. Combined with filtering the Items page to one auction, this makes it quick to select an entire block of lots.
Can I delete every item in an auction at once?
Yes. Filter the Items page to that auction, then use Filtered Items and Delete items. Confirm you have the correct auction filtered before you do this.
I accidentally duplicated lots into another auction. Is this how I clean that up?
Yes, this is the exact scenario bulk deletion handles well. Filter the Items page to the auction that received the duplicates, select the duplicated lots, and delete them with the Selected Items dropdown rather than removing each one individually.
Can I undo a bulk deletion?
Treat deletion as permanent and review your selection carefully before confirming. If you delete items by mistake, contact helpdesk@bidwrangler.com as soon as possible and we will see what can be done.
Is deleting different from unpublishing an item?
Yes. Deleting removes the lot entirely. If you want a lot out of bidders' view but may still need it, the Bulk Item Actions tool can update the Published? field on multiple lots at once instead. See BidWrangler Bulk Item Actions.
