AI Cataloging is a powerful tool built directly into the BidWrangler Catalog App and Admin Portal that uses advanced image recognition to automatically generate accurate titles and descriptions for auction items.

What makes BidWrangler’s AI different? Most AI tools in the auction industry require you to move your data back and forth between different websites or software. Because our AI is a part of the bidding platform you already use, there is no need for complicated exports or extra integrations. Everything stays in one place.

You are in control We believe you should have the final say in how your items are described. With this tool, you can:

• Give Specific Instructions: You can tell the AI exactly how to "talk"—whether you want short bullet points or long, detailed paragraphs.

• Review Before Publishing: The AI doesn't just post things live; it creates a "preview" for you to look at. You can edit the text or ask the AI to try again until it is perfect.

• Keep Your Style: By setting your own instructions (called "prompts"), you ensure the AI matches your company’s unique voice instead of sounding like a generic computer.

This feature acts as a helpful assistant, doing the heavy lifting of writing so you can focus on managing your sale.

The AI Cataloging feature is guarded by a feature flag and must be enabled by a Super User in the Admin Portal before it can be used. Please contact helpdesk@bidwrangler.com if you are interested in adding this feature.

Once enabled, administrators and catalogers can manage AI s directly from the BW Catalog App. This allows you to customize the "voice" of the AI, setting default styles, tones, or specific formatting instructions (e.g., "Keep titles under 80 characters") for your company.

Pre-Cataloged Items

You can have the AI Tool write descriptions for an entire auction. Simply create your lots and add photos as per your typical workflow.

To get started with the AI feature, log into the catalog app and select the auction you wish to add descriptions to. You'll see the AI settings icon in the top-right corner. You can create a new AI Catalog from the drop-down menu:

The app will be pre-loaded with basic prompts for both the auction and formatting which are great for getting you started.

You can start the cataloging process by clicking Start AI Catalog at the bottom. You'll be returned to the item list, and will see a progress bar along the top of the screen.

This could take several minutes depending on the number of photos being analyzed. The progress will also be displayed in the auctions view:

In addition, you can check on the progress of the content generation for specific Auctions, Items, and Images from the 'AI Generations' area of the admin portal:

Notifications

When complete, an email notification is sent after running a new AI Catalog from within the BW Catalog App

To ensure accuracy, the system requires a human review before AI-generated content is finalized.

1. Notifications: When an AI job is finished, a green status indicator or "snackbar" notification will appear in the app. If enabled, an email is also sent to the catalog owner upon completion.

2. Preview and Apply: In the item form, you can preview the generated content. You have the option to Apply the content (replacing or appending to existing text) or Rerun the generation with modified parameters via the AI settings.

3. You can also make minor edits directly in the name and description fields, once applied.

You can use audio prompts to refine descriptions

The audio prompt will allow you to quickly correct mistakes, add more context, highlight certain features, change the formatting, removing text, and much more. Simply describe the changes you need while pressing the Hold to Refine button in the item description.

Keep the icon held down while talking, and release to stop and apply the changes.

The app will display a preview of the changes with Before/After tabs and you can discard or apply to continue.

Please note - the first time you use this feature on your device, you will likely be prompted to grant permissions for the app to be able to access you microphone. You must allow microphone access to be able to use the feature.

You can also generate AI Content as you add new items via the catalog app.

1. Make sure that AI Generations for new items is enabled via the AI settings in the app.

2. Add your photos in the usual way.

3. Once you are done taking photos, the Save and Next button will have the AI stars icon - you can continue adding new items and the content generation will begin on the previous item.

• Accuracy Review: Always review AI descriptions prior to publishing. While highly efficient, AI can miss fine details or markings that a human cataloger would catch.

• Image Quality: The AI's accuracy is directly linked to photo quality. Clear, well-lit images of labels, serial numbers, and different angles of the item produce the best results.

• Browser Version: The BW Catalog App interface is also available in your browser by accessing your bidding platform* and adding '/catalog' to the end of the URL, for example: clientname.bidwrangler.com/catalog
