How to Set a Pay Now Threshold for Invoices in BidWrangler

BidWrangler's Pay Now Threshold lets auction companies control which invoices are eligible for online credit card payment. By setting a dollar limit, you can automatically disable the "Pay Now" button on large invoices, protecting your business from high processing fees and steering bigger payments toward cash, check, ACH, or wire transfer.

The Pay Now Threshold is a configurable dollar limit in BidWrangler's Invoice Settings. When an invoice balance meets or exceeds that limit, the "Pay Now" button is automatically disabled on the customer-facing invoice, preventing online credit card payments.

Example: If your threshold is set to $500:

• A $450 invoice → "Pay Now" button is active

• A $500 invoice → "Pay Now" button is disabled

• A $750 invoice → "Pay Now" button is disabled

Auction companies typically enable this feature to:

• Reduce credit card processing fees on high-value transactions

• Enforce alternative payment methods (cash, check, ACH, wire transfer) for larger invoices

• Maintain payment control without manually reviewing every invoice

3. Confirm that the standard Pay Now feature is enabled for bidder self-payment

The Pay Now Threshold only restricts the customer-facing "Pay Now" button. It does not prevent administrators from manually charging credit cards through the Admin Portal, including bulk charges. If you run a bulk charge, all invoices will be processed regardless of their balance.

Can I manually charge a credit card on an invoice that exceeds the threshold?
Yes. The threshold exclusively disables the customer-facing "Pay Now" button. Administrators can still manually charge any invoice — including those above the threshold — directly from the BidWrangler Admin Portal.

What happens if an invoice equals the exact threshold amount?
The "Pay Now" button will be disabled. The rule applies to any invoice balance that is equal to or greater than the configured threshold.

Does the Pay Now Threshold affect bulk charges?
No. Bulk charges initiated by administrators will process all invoices regardless of balance, as the threshold only controls the customer-facing payment button.
