How do I create an ad that also shows in the Auctions tab on the website?

Edited

You can create adverts for upcoming auctions or events and have them appear on your website among your current auctions.

In the example below, the first item is a regular auction accepting bids, and the second item is a promotional ad for an upcoming auction which is not yet ready for registrations or bids.

First, we need to set it up as an auction, but disable all of the bidding and registration features.

When setting up the auction, you'll need to include the regular required fields such as name, description, terms and conditions (if you use "confirm no terms," be sure to add terms before enabling the auction), and dates.

If you don't know the dates for the auction at the time of setting up the ad, feel free to use the "Hide dates?" feature in the dates section of auction settings:

The next step is scroll down to the Live Auctions settings, and check the Offline Auction? box. This will disable all the bidding and registration tools:

You can then save and add your advert image(s).

Finally, in order for the 'auction' to publish, there needs to be at least one item associated with it. Many customers create a lot that says "Catalog Coming Soon!" and/or uses informational lots that they regularly use. Feel free to include multiple images of lots in the auction or create a custom image and include them on this lot. Once you have created the item and attached it to the ad/auction it will populate to your website.
