How do I manage auction descriptions?

Auction Descriptions

This article is applicable ONLY for customers who are not utilizing Wavebid. If you are using Wavebid to manage your auctions, DO NOT edit your auction description in the admin portal.

There are several fields available to use for an auction description when creating an auction within the BidWrangler admin.

Primary Description

This field is required to publish an auction.  This will be the primary description of the auction used as a short teaser in search results. HTML, web links, and preset headers can be adjusted and input within the text field.  Within the admin portal, this field will be displayed here -

To a bidder within the app, a user will be able to see this when they click "auction details", and will be displayed here -

Simple Description

Simple Descriptions are optional, but if left blank the primary description will default into this field.  Any HTML will be stripped from this description. It is suggested that you keep this description short, preferably a few sentences or less.  In the admin portal, the field to enter a simple description will be displayed here -

In the app, this will be displayed to bidders here:

Tag Line

The tag line is a special field that will be applied to websites built by BidWrangler that have a tag line enabled.  This field adds a small tag line to the top of an auction's photo on the website, usually for items with a set price, such as a real estate listing.  It is suggested to keep this field limited to several words, or a numerical price for a listing.  In the admin portal, it will be displayed in this manner -

On BidWrangler websites, the tag line will be displayed in this manner -
