How to Create, Print, and Scan an Invoice Pick List in BidWrangler

An invoice pick list in BidWrangler is a printable list of the lots on a buyer's invoice. Staff use the pick list at pickup to make sure that each buyer leaves with the correct lots, no more and no fewer. Each pick list has a barcode for the full invoice and a barcode for each item. Scan these barcodes on the Checkout page to load the invoice and select items.

Pick lists are designed to be used together with the Checkout page during pickup. When the buyer leaves your facility with their purchased items, a staff member can compare the items to the pick list. The staff member then records the status of each item on the Checkout page.

For equipment auctions that need a signed record of released lots, you can use Item Release Tickets together with pick lists.

Pick lists go with invoices. You can open a pick list from the Invoice screen or from an invoice page.

From the Invoice screen:

1. Open the Invoice screen in the Admin Portal.

2. Find the row of the invoice.

3. Click the pick list option on the invoice row.

4. Print the pick list.

From an invoice page:

1. Open the invoice.

2. Click the pick list option on the invoice page.

3. Print the pick list.

You can also print pick lists for many invoices at once when you filter the Invoice screen by auction.

Each pick list has two types of barcode. The barcode at the top of the pick list loads the full invoice on the Checkout page. Each item on the pick list also has its own barcode. When you scan an item barcode, the Checkout page selects that item.

1. Connect the barcode scanner to your computer.

2. On the Checkout page, click the invoice number field.

3. Scan the barcode at the top of the pick list. The Checkout page loads the items on that invoice.

4. Click the Lot Number field. The helper text in the field reads "Enter Lot Number or Scan Barcode to Select Item."

5. Scan the barcode of each item that leaves the facility. The Checkout page selects each scanned item.

6. Under status, carrier type, and carrier name as needed.

7. Click Apply.

NOTE: A scan only selects an item. A scan does not change the status of the item. The status changes when you click Apply.

You can also type a lot number in the Lot Number field to select an item without a scanner.

What is an invoice pick list in BidWrangler? An invoice pick list is a printable list of the lots on one buyer's invoice. It shows the invoice number, the buyer information, your company information, and a barcode for the invoice and for each item.

Where do I print a pick list in BidWrangler? You can open a pick list from the invoice row on the Invoice screen or from the invoice page. Open the pick list and print it after the buyer pays the invoice.

Can I scan the barcodes on a pick list? Yes. Scan the pick list barcodes on the BidWrangler Checkout page with a barcode scanner that is connected to your computer. The invoice barcode loads the invoice, and each item barcode selects that item.

What happens when I scan the barcode at the top of a pick list? The Checkout page loads that invoice and shows all of its items. The invoice number field on the Checkout page must be the active field when you scan.

Does scanning an item barcode mark the item as picked up? No. A scan of an item barcode only selects the item on the Checkout page. To record the status, choose a status under Options and click Apply.

Can I use a pick list without a barcode scanner? Yes. Use the printed pick list as a checklist at pickup. On the Checkout page, type the invoice number to load the invoice. Then type lot numbers in the Lot Number field or select items with the checkboxes.

What's the difference between a pick list and an Item Release Ticket? A pick list shows all lots on one invoice and has barcodes for the Checkout page. Staff use an Item Release Ticket to confirm that the correct paid lot is loaded and to collect the buyer's signature. Equipment auction companies often use Item Release Tickets.
