How do I reorder items by lot number?
Many auction companies choose to order their catalogs in order by lot number. Our auction positions for lots are assigned as next available, and in many scenarios, catalogers are often not cataloging in the order that the sale will run in. Additionally, you may want to add an ABC lot in between previously cataloged lots and need it positioned according {7A needs to be position in between 7 and 8}. This article will walk you through how to reorder or resequence your lots according to the lot number:
From the Admin Portal, click on "Items" and then choose the relevant auction from the "Filter by Auction" dropdown.
Double-check that you have selected the correct auction then click "Filtered Items" > "Update Items"
From the "Field to update" dropdown, select "Auction Position." From the "Strategy" dropdown, select "Reorder by Lot Number." Then click on Execute.
Many customers will try to update "Lot ID" when trying to reorder their sales. Auction position does not mimic the lot identifier number in our system, so this is not the appropriate "Field to update".
❗️Please mind that bulk-item updates, like item imports, cannot be undone. Feel free to test on an identical scenario in a test auction or contact us at helpdesk@bidwrangler.com ❗️
Click "Confirm"
The items are now reordered, and the log of bulk actions is displayed for reference. Click on the orange colored auction name to quickly navigate to the auction.
