Overview
Permanent bidder numbers can be assigned directly to user profiles, but clearing them manually one account at a time is time-consuming. By exporting your user data, clearing the Bidder Number column in a spreadsheet, and re-importing the file, you can update hundreds of profiles at once.
Step 1: Export Users with Permanent Paddle Numbers
1. Set Up the Filter
In your Admin Portal, go to Company > Users in the left sidebar.
Click Add Filter near the top right.
Select Bidder Number from the dropdown, set the condition to Is Present, and click the orange Refresh button. This isolates all accounts with assigned permanent numbers.
2. Choose Your Export Option
Option A: Filtered Items (Best for Large Batches) Click the Filtered Items dropdown in the top right and select Export Users.
Option B: Selected Items (Best for Specific Accounts) Check the box next to each specific user you want to edit, click the Selected Items dropdown in the top right, and select Export Users.
3. Finalize Export Settings
In the configuration window, select only these four columns:
First Name
Last Name
Email
Bidder Number
Click Export and download the generated CSV file.
Step 2: Clean the CSV Spreadsheet
Open the CSV file in Excel, Google Sheets, or Apple Numbers.
Locate the Bidder Number column and highlight the cells for users whose numbers should be removed.
Press Delete or Clear Contents so the cells are completely blank (do not type 0 or enter spaces).
Preserve VIPs: If any user in the sheet needs to keep their number, delete their entire row from the file.
Save the file in CSV (Comma Separated Values) format.
Step 3: Run the Bidders Import
In your Admin Portal, navigate to Imports > Bidders Import on the left menu.
Click Create in the top right corner.
Upload your saved CSV file.
Map the columns as follows:
First Name → First Name
Last Name → Last Name
Email → Email Address
Bidder Number → Bidder Number
Click Save to run the update.
Step 4: Verify the Changes
Return to Company > Users.
Re-apply the Bidder Number is Present filter.
Verify that the list only contains bidders who were meant to keep their permanent numbers.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: What happens if I type "0" in the Bidder Number column instead of leaving it blank?
A: The system will attempt to assign 0 as that user's permanent bidder number. To clear the number completely, the cell must be left entirely empty.
Q: Should I use "Filtered Items" or "Selected Items" when exporting?
A: Use Filtered Items if you want to pull all accounts that currently have permanent numbers. Use Selected Items if you only want to modify a specific subset of accounts.
Q: How do I ensure I don't accidentally remove numbers for VIP bidders?
A: Delete the entire spreadsheet row for any VIP user before uploading. The Bidders Import tool only modifies accounts listed in the file; omitted users remain untouched.
Q: Will removing a permanent paddle number delete a user's account or bidding history?
A: No. It only removes the default paddle number from their profile. Their account credentials, bidding history, invoices, and registrations will remain fully intact.
Q: Can I run this process if I only need to update 5 or 10 users?
A: Yes. You can use Option B in Step 1 to export and update just those specific accounts via CSV. Alternatively, for very small groups, you can update them manually by navigating to Company > Users, clicking User > Edit (pencil), and clearing the Bidder Number field directly.
