How to Lock an Auction

Edited

Once an auction is over and all invoices have been paid, all settlements have been settled, everything is accounted for, etc., an auction company may consider that auction "done." In order to prevent any changes being made to that auction's reporting moving forward, the BidWrangler platform allows for auctions to be "locked."

This feature can be found in the auction-level settings. For Linked Auction Groups, the auction must be locked/unlocked at the group level.

Once an auction is locked, neither the auction nor its items (or invoices or settlements) can be edited. Only users with "full admin"-level permissions can lock an auction.

If an auction is locked and an admin attempts to unlock an invoice or settlement, they should receive an error stating they are unable to do so because the auction is locked.
