How do I use Google Tag Manager?
Example Implementation of Google Tag Manager
Tag Manager allows you to manage of all your website and bidding platform tags in one location. It is a powerful tool that can be configured to track a wide variety of user actions, and then send these actions to platforms for improving analytics, marketing, social media and more. Tag Manager is supported on BidWrangler websites as well as the BidWrangler bidding platform.
Google Tag Manager (hereafter GTM) implementations will vary widely according to the goals of any given auction company. GTM is an advanced system for setting up and distributing tag data and is most often implemented by companies with dedicated marketing teams or outside marketing consultants. As such BidWrangler does not regularly assist in GTM setup other than to add relevant container numbers to a customer website and bidding platform. For further information about GTM, please see the guides at the Tag Manager help center here: https://support.google.com/tagmanager
What follows is an example GTM implementation that covers a few basic tracking actions which will interest most auction companies, including user sign up, registration, and bids. The example below assumes prior experience with Tag Manager, and is offered as an overview of GTM possibilities within BidWrangler software.
