How to create and manage seller permissions for seller-managed auctions

If you're reading this support article, that likely means you need to give a seller special permissions to catalog an auction for you. Let's get started!

1. Navigate to your bidding platform's admin portal.

(Before moving on to the next steps, please make sure the person you want to assign consignor permissions to has a user account with you already. If they do not, you will need to create a user account for them before moving forward. This can be accomplished by going to the "user" menu, creating a new user with a valid first name, last name, email address and password.)

2. Let's set up some consignor permissions! Click "Permissions" in your left-hand menu.

3. Click "Create" to create a new set of permissions.

4. The "user" menu is where you will select your seller/consignor. You can start to type their name or email address and options will populate the search bar.

5. Find the user in the dropdown menu.

6. Under "permission type," select "consignor."

7. Click "Save"

8. Now, navigate to the auction in which you'd like to assign this person consignor permissions.

9. Click the pencil to edit the auction settings.

10. Under the "customization" settings, you'll see a new Consignor dropdown menu.

11. Select your consignor's name.

12. Click "Save" at the bottom.

The consignor can add items to their auctions.

They can click the dropdown to choose the auction they're working on.

They can edit the suggested fields section, the bidding configuration section, and the contact information section.

Please note, consignors can complete items imports, meaning they can bulk upload CSV files and photos to an auction.

They can also generate barcodes for cataloging.

We hope you find this new feature useful for your seller/consignor managed auctions!

As a reminder, those with consignor permissions can only see/edit the auctions that they have been assigned to. When they no longer need access to that auction, we recommend removing their permission from the auction container, rather than editing their consignor permission.
